CareerGauge for Chrome
Connect the extension, capture a job, choose when to analyze, and resolve common page-detection issues.
Button names below follow the current extension interface.
Open the extension on a job page and choose Sign in to Save. CareerGauge opens a normal browser tab for approval. Complete sign-in there, return to the popup, and choose Check Connection if the popup has not updated yet.
Review the detected title, company, and available job details, then choose Save Job. This preserves the opportunity in CareerGauge without starting analysis.
Choose Save & Analyze to save the reviewed posting first and then start analysis. The popup shows the Capacity Unit cost before the action. You can close the popup while analysis continues in CareerGauge.
Confirm that the active tab is a regular web job posting, then choose Refresh Page Capture. CareerGauge does not promise automatic extraction on every site; structured employer career pages provide the most reliable results.
If automatic capture is incomplete, select the useful job text on the page before opening CareerGauge, or choose Enter Job Manually. Review or paste the title, company, and job description, then continue back to the explicit Save step.
Manual capture lets you correct the role, company, job description, and optional job details before saving. Nothing is saved merely because you opened or edited the review form.
Analysis may pause when CareerGauge needs more information. Choose Continue in CareerGauge to review the saved opportunity and provide the requested input.
Chrome does not permit extension page inspection on pages such as chrome://settings. Open the extension while viewing the original job posting on a normal HTTPS web page.
If the page differs materially from the saved version, the popup offers Save Latest Version. CareerGauge keeps the opportunity connected while preserving the previous saved and analyzed evidence.
Choose Open Opportunity, Open CareerGauge, or View Decision Brief when available. The extension opens the matching saved record rather than creating a separate browser-only workflow.
The first release targets Chrome and Chromium. Firefox and Safari are not promised.
Selected text and pasted job details remain available when automatic extraction needs help.
Detection and review do not save the captured job. Save remains a separate user action.
Include the browser version, the popup message, and the steps that led to it. Do not email passwords, access tokens, full resume content, or the complete job description.
